Ms. Lee uses vivid images and word pictures wonderfully in this narrative but leaving the end unresolved seems to me to defeat the purpose of writing this type of novel. Despite the lack of resolution, I did find this book to be an accurate commentary on humanity and society in America. We are easily distracted and the enemy can and will use that to his advantage. I cannot recommend this as an uplifiting narrative though it does make the reader stop to consider where energies and attention are focused in our limited life-span on earth.
