In this most recent chronicle of the girls adventures, the Holidays are nearly upon them along with ran extended break from school. Most of the girls have plans to visit family if there is opportunity to do so but D J would rather be stuck at her grandmother’s than be forced to play live in babysitter to her half-sibling twins at her father’s. Taylor will be touring with her mom’s show in Vegas and decides D J needs to get out of the house instead of hanging with the old folks for the duration so she convinces both D J and Mrs Carter that a trip to Vegas to “keep” Taylor out of trouble is just the thing for D J. It soons turns into a battle of wills between D J and Taylor with mostly stalemate endings especially when Eliza becomes part of the picture.

Regardless of the trials and struggles D J learns more about Taylor’s past and perhaps gains a bit of insight into the roots of Taylor’s behavior and choices. Will Taylor come to the end of her rope and decide she needs help and if so what form will that help take when the opportunity arises to take it? Can D J survive the disasters that come in Taylor’s wake and avoid the worst of the pitfalls without leaving Taylor to drown in her own poor decisions? (ISBN#9780310714927, 208pp, $9.99)
