~Mailbox Monday~

Marcia at The Printed Page hosts this each Monday. Check out Marcia’s posts for more info and to read what other particpants are saying plus leave your own links for the current week.

Reviews will go up as I get to the books. In the meantime click bookcovers or titles to read more. Don’t forget to check out author sites too.

Eternal On the Water by Joseph Monninger
Pocket (February 16, 2010)
This book sounded like it would be interesting to read and although the style and content might find favor amongst Thoreau and his contemporaries of the transcendental era, I am finding myself drawn to Monninger’s characters rather than any major philosophy they might appear reminiscent of. The story itself meanders along with the occasional burst of excitement or action thrown in to break any monotony the reader might find annoying or distracting in this tranquil wooded setting. Thanks to the Publisher for a Review Copy.

Danger Close by William G Boykin & Tom Morrisey
Fidelis (July 1, 2010)
This book isn’t among my usual menu of literature but for those that love an action packed, military or crime novel it would probably be a great choice to ingest.
Thanks to the publisher for a review copy.

Love Finds You in Revenge Ohio by Lisa Harris
Summerside Press (June 3, 2009)
While I’ve seen quite a bit about these books among the book blogger community this is the first of the series I have actually encountered. Thanks to Delia Latham for her contest where I won this copy along with a beautiful burgundy pen and of course the chocolate to munch as I read. (ISBN#9781934770818, 320pp, $12.99)

The Silent Gift by Michael Landon, Jr. and Cindy Kelley
Bethany House (October 1, 2009)
While this is Landon’s second novel, both in collaboration with other authors, it will the first one I’ve read. I just hope that choosing the book primarily because the author’s name invokes childhood memories of not only flying through the Little House books at age 7 and rereading them later as well as watching his father’s work on TV, will not prove to discourage me from reading his work after this book. Thanks to the Publisher for a Review Copy.

The Rose Labyrinth by Titania Hardie
Washington Square Press (September 1, 2009)
This is one of those books I am not sure about as Hardie is a new author to me but I was at the bookstore and this cover just sort of drew me to the shelf. When I read the cover it became even more intriguing as I enjoy both puzzles and historical novels. Obviously I did purchase a copy in the end. (ISBN#9781416586005, 448pp, $15.00)

    1. Unfortunately since this was a purchase it gets buried in the TBR for a while. I still haven’t even gotten to Swan Thieves which was a January purchase. You might be waiting a while for my thoughts on Rose Labyrinth.
