This book is a wonderful collection of personal “essays” on our relationship with the Lord. Each entry is the equivalent of about half of an 8½ by 11 page so can be read in less than a minute yet is packed with biblical truth about who we are in Christ, God’s character and how that all interweaves in our relationships with Him and others. Each entry is also accompanied by a black and white photo on the facing page that makes this book something to peruse for “art’s” sake as well.

The pictures all go along with the water theme yet each one has a very different feel to it than the others. Interweaving the pictures and the prose makes a collection that is pleasing to the eye and the ear while also being a quick pick-me-up after a difficult day or a wake-up call when the reader has strayed into any number of brambles and lies.

This is one book I plan to keep handy especially for those times I fall into feeling inadequate, unloved, and like everything is blowing up in my face. Any one of these short inspirational pieces will speak to all these situations and more as well as remind me to refocus on Truth and Christ. The truth is, and Mr. Baker comes back to this repeatedly in the book, when I am experiencing these types of feelings my focus is likely on one thing, ME! exactly where it shouldn’t be.

  1. This book sounds uplifting, visually and mentally. I love the color blue and being from the caribbean, I love all bodies of water, having grown up with it all around me. I cant think of anything more soothing than the sound of water flowing, falling in the back ground as you read God’s word. Please enter me in this drawing. TK, vcw1476 at gmail dot com
